What the heck are people doing with these things??
All kinds of things! The uses seem to be limitless. Your creativity, imagination, and vision can and does seek expression with our stones. Many people are sending our stones as expressions of love, and we have placed just about everything into stone. We have created marriage proposals, thank you's, words of appreciation, quotes, private/funny/significant phrases between friends, emblems of sentimental or nostalgic value, or just words of endearment or caring. Whether it's silliness or sentimentality, your words can be said in stone. The more common uses are to greet guests with a welcome, as a street sign, or an address marker at home or place of employment; to designate a garden, sanctuary, or any special spot; to memorialize whomever or whatever we may have lost; or to express a hobby or interest.

What type of stone do you use to make your stones?
The most common stone we use at SayItInStone is called Pennsylvania Bluestone. We have tried various types and chose this one because of its consistent grain and its availability. The grain of this stone enables us to produce a nice sharp, clean letter when engraved. All our stones are natural and have unique qualities distinctive to each. The work of our artisans, then, enhances each stone. Additionally, and, in the same way, we use slate, sawed limestone, regular brick pavers, as well as some marble and granite. How many words, or letters/spaces can fit on my stone?
It depends on the size of the stone that you order. The same amount of lettering, as well as a design, will not fit on a small stone that a 12 x 16 piece of stone can accept. At SayItInStone we try to accommodate our customers' desires and can usually adjust something (either the size of the design or the size of the lettering). As a safe estimate, we will include anywhere from 12 to 30 letters.

How long does it take? Can I get my order rushed??
Our normal production time is approximately 3 weeks from the time the order is received to the day it is ready to be shipped. We consider the importance of each order to our customers, so please bear in mind that all orders must receive a considerable amount of time and preparation. We are not casting these stones and churning them out by the truckload. If you are in a hurry to receive your stone we have a rush service available. It is possible to give your order priority status for an additional $20.00 and usually have it shipped in about a week. If you then want to send it overnight, two day, or standard UPS Ground, we can arrange that for you.

What method is used for shipping? How long does it take and what can I expect to pay for shipping a stone?
Our most common shipping method is UPS Ground. To most areas this seems to be the most reliable and cost effective way. These stones can be a little heavy so we tried to find shipping that would not be too costly. Generally throughout the year, shipping in Continental USA, except to the West Coast takes about 3 or 4 days. To our friends on the coast, it averages about a week. Again, the prices vary depending on the size stone you are ordering and where it is going. What type of return policy do you have?
Our return policy is pretty simple… If we send you an e-mail of the layout and there is a mistake, we hope you will peruse it carefully and catch it. That is not always the case. If we make the error in spelling or stone selection we will gladly remake the stone and get it right out with our apologies. We don't like to make mistakes, but we are human and it may happen. We all know the expression: "It's not carved in stone", well, at our company, it is!

Can you duplicate any custom design or logo?
We possess a unique ability to engrave into stone and, we are always up to the challenge to take a design or logo and transform it into an engraved image. Please note we must use a clear copy, and original, preferably camera-ready artwork results in the best replications, there will be an additional fee dependent on the amount of work that must go into the duplication process.

Do you offer any kind of wholesale/distributor agreements?
Since SayItInStone has rocked onto the Internet, several companies wanting to establish wholesale or distributor type agreements have approached us. If you are interested in selling our products in an area we do not currently have established, please send us an email, and we can discuss it with you. Due to the heavy nature of some of our products some lend themselves to wholesale potential while others do not. However, this something we can resolve based on several factors.

Do you offer a quantity discount?

I am unsure about the layout for my stone, can you help me design it?
Absolutely!! This is the best part of our job. We have a few artistic people who design all of our stones. They will take your words and arrange them into something worthy of being cut into to stone for all eternity. For every order we receive we will create a layout, then email this to you for your approval. Most of the time we then move forward with our process. Some people desire to be more involved. We will spend the time working with you until you are satisfied. Ultimately, we want our customers to be happy with their purchases.

What kinds of payment methods are available?
On the website we have secured billing through Verisign. If you would like to make a purchase online please feel safe and secure on our order pages. We possess a secure system for encryption of all personal data. If you are not comfortable please call toll-free at 1-888-454-2015, and we can handle your transaction that way. Also, for the convenience of our customers we can take your order online, then you can send us a check through the mail, and we will complete your order.

What about returns?
We try to cover all our bases by sending out the layout before we put anything into "production" so we hopefully can avoid any errors. Unfortunately, we know mistakes can happen, so we will handle each on a case-by-case basis.

We are interested in the bricks for a FUND RAISER, is that something you do?
YES. We have been engraving all kinds of stone for years; in the past 4 or 5 we have completed several engraved brick projects and have more on the way. The great thing about these as a fund raising opportunity is the distinct ability to recognize your donors. We have done them for schools, churches, communities, little league groups, and other organizations looking for a interesting, unique way to do fund raising.
